East Boston is certainly one neighborhood that is quickly undergoing major changes. As one of Boston’s most diverse neighborhoods, East Boston has roughly 40,000 residents, many of whom have lived there for their entire lives. Home of Logan International Airport, East Boston is across the Boston Harbor from Downtown Boston and less than a 10 minute MBTA ride from the city. East Boston has arguably piqued significant interest from developers in recent years, who cite the neighborhood’s location ease to Downtown and amazing skyline views as major reasons for their new residential developments.
Similar to redevelopment in South Boston, many developers have invested in triple deckers and renovated them into fantastic townhomes, duplexes, or investment properties. There are also some large-scale luxury developments in East Boston, with complexes like the Porter Lofts and Portside at East Pier to name a few. Some of East Boston’s sought after neighborhoods include those centered around Maverick Square, as well as neighborhoods with beautiful parks and open spaces that offer gorgeous views of Boston, such as Jeffries Point.
